The Ultimate Kit for Scarlet and Epic Cameras is a complete cinema handheld rig specially designed for the Scarlet and Epic. The base of this rig is our lightweight Studio Baseplate for the Scarlet and Epic. It features our Rod Riser with 4.5” rods. The Rod Riser provides the correct height needed when using a matte box or follow focus. Rods also run out of the back of the plate to hold the Shoulder Pad and the included Zwiss Plate. On each side of the baseplate there is a set of 15mm lightweight holes. The side rod port holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users virtually unlimited mounting options such as mounting the included Zwiss Plate with a pro brick battery off of the side when shooting on a tripod for better balance. You can also mount articulating arms, or an EVF mount, rods and more. The baseplate has standard ¼” 20 and 3/8” 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.
The Ultimate Kit includes our Z-Focus and two ZipGear Universal lens gears, our Shoulder Pad with 7” rods, 8” rods to mount off of the back of the Shoulder Pad and our Zwiss Plate multipurpose cheese plate. The Zwiss Plate mounted on the back of the rig allows you to mount anything with the provided ¼” 20 and 3/8” 16 holes. V-Mount or 3-Stud Anton Bauer style batteries act as great counterbalance weights for this rig and can be attached directly to the Zwiss plate using a battery plate. You can attach wireless equipment to the Zwiss Plate with our Wireless Plate Pro.The front of the rig features our Zgrips V3. These grips are fully adjustable with removable, adjustable arms and articulating handgrips. For added comfort on long strenuous shoots, check out our Zgrip Gloves. The QR Handle is a multi purpose top handle that can be used on the Scarlet, Epic cameras and other accessories such as the Zacuto Zwiss Cage. The handle is ideal for low-mode shooting and easy transport of your camera. The base of the handle attaches via (2) ¼” 20 screws (included) that are spaced 3/8" screw center to center at their closest to 2" 5/32" at their furthest. The Top Handle mounts to the base via Zacuto’s quick release Z-Rail system, allowing you to leave the base on the camera and remove the handle with the flip of a lever. The handle can be slid left or right on the Z-Rail to balance the camera’s center of gravity. Zacuto dovetail accessories are adjustable to work with Z-Rail, NATO, SWAT, RED, PICATINNY, and WOODEN CAMERA rails.
The handle and rods assembly is 7” long. Both ends of the handle are female threaded for extensions.
You can also mount other accessories to this handle by using our T-Mount (single hole) or Tri-Mount (dual hole). The T-Mount has (1) 15mm port that is secured with an Allen screw and (1) 15mm quick release hole. The port attaches to the Top Handle rod, giving you a 15mm hole to mount anything from your mic, EVF, light, recorder, etc. The dual hole Tri-Mount also has (1) 15mm port but includes (2) 15mm holes so you can mount two accessories at the same time. The FS100 Top Handle mounts directly to the FS100 camera without blocking the opening of the LCD screen. The handle is ideal for low-mode shooting and easy transport of your camera. The base of the handle attaches to the FS100 via (3) ¼” 20 screws (included) and the coldshoe mount. The (3) mounting points and coldshoe ensure a sturdy connection. The Top Handle mounts to the base via Zacuto’s quick release Z-Rail system, allowing you to leave the base on the camera and remove the handle with the flip of a lever. The T-Mount is a t-shaped 15mm perpendicular rod mount. It includes (1) 15mm rod port that is secured by an Allen screw and (1) 15mm quick release hole which sits perpendicular to the port. You can attach any 15mm rod accessory to this, such as one of our articulating arms or a Zud. It is most commonly used to attach an FS100 microphone to our FS100 Top Handle. The rod port attaches to the Top Handle rod and allows you to slide your microphone mount into the 15mm hole. It can also be mounted onto any 15mm rod end.

The Z-Focus Extender is used to extend the distance between the focus knob and gear housing on any Zacuto Z-Focus. Moving the focus knob away from the rods is essential for compact rig setups with multiple accessories. The Z-Focus Extender is 4.5" long. The added distance provides clearance between an EVF and focus knob, making it much easier for the focus puller or camera operator to control the knob and see focus marks. This accessory can potentially shorten your overall rig length by three inches, moving the rig center of gravity closer to the user’s shoulder. Installation is easy. If you are using a Z-Focus that was purchased before January of 2010 or your Z-Focus gear has a hole in the middle instead of a metal pin, please call as you will need a different screw to mount the extender properly.

(NOTE: This baseplate comes only with rods shown.) The Studio Baseplate is lightweight, sturdy and easily adaptable. Rods can be attached to the back of the plate to hold a shoulder pad, batteries, and other accessories. Rods can also be attached to the side of the plate, via rod ports, and secured with Allens. The riser is attached via two Allen screws and is easily removed if you plan to use this with a Canon C300 as well. The riser gives you the correct rod height to add a follow focus and matte box to your kit. The Bolt Action is our simplest in-line dual handgrip shoulder mounted system for DSLRs. It utilizes our height-adjustable DSLR Baseplate with a set of 3.5” rods which allows you to mount any DSLR with or without battery grips. Your tripod plate can attach directly to the bottom of the DSLR Baseplate using the standard tripod screws, (2) ¼ 20” and (1) 3/8 16”. Turning the red knob on the baseplate allows you to quick release your camera right off of the rig. Our dual handgrip system, the Zgrips V3, makes your long shooting days a breeze.
